Item Description
The match books are all standard size except for "Clicquot Club" which is half the width of the others. This is complete with matches and has nice color ad on the back for "Hires Root Beer." Next is a "Pepsi Cola" double dot match book which has about half the matches remaining. The following five books are without matches. The "Nehi" example has some wear on the striker. The rest have light general wear but are quite intact and these include pack advertising boxer endorsed "Joe Louis Punch", "Whistle Orange, Mission Orange, and Lem-n Blennd." This has small flake off the striker. The four miscellaneous items consist of metal "Hires Root Beer" stopper with text printed on the upper surface of the metal below a threaded screw used to adjust the tension. Second is a 2.5" brass plate with most of original red paint on the front. This came off a machine and reads "Pepsi-Cola Vend No.5987 Richmond, Va." Next is a 4.25" tip tray for "Canada Dry." This has a tiny center indent as made which allows the tray to spin and its border is numbered 1 through 4 along with jockey on horse images to serve as a game device. Next is a stiff card 4.75" tall and apparently serving as a coaster with advertising for "Vernors Gingerale." The items with pins consists of gorgeous figural celluloid depiction of a bunch of grapes overprinted with name and bottle image for "Welch's Grape Juice." Company name repeats on the back along with W&H 1905 patent date. Celluloid joins to a small stickpin. The pin-backs in order of size and more or less matching our photo consists of "Member Nichol-Kola Crown Contest" this is an early 1.25" c. 1920 with metal back and barpin. Next is 1.5" for "Kik Me Kwik." c. 1930s by Bastian and rare. Next is 1-3/8" litho with boy holding bottle of "Goody." This is c. 1930s made by Wendells of Minneapolis.
