The 1.5" celluloid at center has pair of metal prongs on the reverse which join it to the felts. Pictured is high-top woman's shoe with text "J. Richardson & Co. Elmira, N.Y. Fine Footwear Stylish & Perfect Fitting." Curl has name of maker W&H along with "Pat. Applied For" making this one of the very earliest celluloids designed for use on a pen wipe. c. 1900s.
