Item Description
This unusual piece is 5.25" tall, 2-5/8" wide, and about .75" thick. It is designed as a full figure black man in colorful outfit formed as part of a saxophone design. At the base of the saxophone is a .5" metal disc attached to a string which goes into the interior. When this disc is pulled the figure moves both arms with one holding a brass luster cymbal that goes up and down above a matching cymbal mounted to the top of a simulated drum which includes a yellow sun face on each side. The figure's left arm is designed with a drum beater in the hand. While the piece can be rapidly activated it does not actually produce much noise just a rather gentle sound when the cymbals strike and no real additional sound from the drum as the beater does not actually touch the drum head. The mouthpiece of the saxophone has small interior wood plug as made. Scattered loss of gold luster from the unpainted tin areas of the saxophone but just slight general scattered wear on the figure of the man and the drum head. The band around the drum head is marked "Made In Germany/D.R.G.M." Great mechanical action and quite rare.
