Item Description
2.25" long solid cast iron in the shape of a crawling turtle all finished in brass luster. A metal tab holds a 1-5/8" tall oval celluloid to the top of the piece. This has an outer edge actually simulating a turtle's shell plus blue printing that includes the logo of the company and text reading "If You Want To Save Time, Travel, Trouble And Money Use The Long Distance Telephone/So. Bell Tel. & Tel. Co." Extremely tiny text at bottom of celluloid names maker W&H with 1905 patent date. Only the most trivial surface wear marks on the celluloid showing in reflected light. Among the best in this series we have seen. Also see early Pioneer telephone button #523 plus next related turtle paperweight.
