Item numbers 1429 through 3205 in auction 203
Item Description
1930s. First is 12x19" die-cut cardboard box lid only. Front flap is present but lid is missing squared off piece that wrapped around die-cut area. This has great art of Mickey, Minnie and Pluto using a Disney Wade tea set. Edge wear but strong color and great for display as is and rare, even as just the lid. Fine. Also comes with the original but generic orange cardboard box bottom with die-cut openings to hold the pieces. Fine. Tea set is comprised of 15 ceramic pieces. Teapot w/lid, creamer, sugar, four plates, four cups and saucers. Sizes range from 3.25" tall teapot to 5" dia. plate. Images on the pieces includes Mickey shoveling and carrying an envelope, Minnie reading a letter, Donald Duck dancing and as a peanut vendor, Pluto. The 10 pieces with these images are from the same set. There is also one cup with image of Donald as Little Boy Blue but this is from another Wade set that featured Disney characters as nursery rhyme characters. Still in matching design to the other pieces in this set including rim accent. The four saucers, while also in matching design w/rim accent, are marked "Crown Ducal/Made In England" and do not have any Disney images. However, the company mark does date them to the 1930s, the same as the Wade pieces in this lot. So for display purposes, these work well with the cups. One Mickey plate has a minor rim nick. Some typical and minor crazing to some of the other pieces but all remains bright and glossy. Overall displays Exc.
