Item Description
9.75x10" by David McKay Co. © 1932. 48 pages in bw featuring reprints of Floyd Gottfredson daily strips from 1931 including the first appearance of Pluto. Inside front cover has ad for other books including "The Adventures Of Mickey Mouse." Front cover, to the left of the Mickey image, has bold ink stamp notation "File Copy Do Not Remove Walt Disney Productions Publications Department." First and last pages have slightest age toning, all other pages are nearly as fresh as the day the book was printed. Cover has very minor edge wear/aging. Pair of exceedingly minor .5" hairline crease lines at right corners really only noticeable upon close inspection. Back cover has some minor edge nicks on extreme top/bottom and a 2" hairline crease line at left center edge which is so faint it is barely noticeable even upon close inspection, just noted for complete accuracy. Cover is VF/NM while pages overall are NM. The highest grade listed for this book in Overstreet is VF with a value of $1,200. This is not only a higher grade but further enhanced by being a Disney file copy. Disney file copy books are rare and highly sought after, none more so than this classic McKay book. A very special piece for the Disney book and Platinum Age comic collector.
