6.25x9" English hardcover by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd. ©1935. No dust jacket. 256 pages plus 16 glossy paper illustrated plates. Title page reads "Stories Verse And Drawings Contributed By Notable Writers And Artists In Aid Of The Centenary Appeal Of The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital." Text includes preface by Kipling and stories by Agatha Christie, A.J. Cronin, J.B. Priestley, among others. Frontispiece of Princess Elizabeth of York. Disney art is featured on single and double page plates with characters including Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Wise Little Hen, Three Pigs, Peculiar Penguins. These plates have text "Designs For Decoration Of The New Ambulance Of The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital/Walt Disney." One other plate has photo of such an ambulance w/painted images on sides including Mickey, Felix the Cat, Humpty Dumpty, Golliwog. Great content. Lt. aging to cover/contents but a clean and VF copy overall. Scarce.
