Item Description
Large 2.25" cartoon button with metal covered back and vertical barpin which includes maker name St. Louis Button Co. Button has text at front lower center "I've Been There." On the left two policemen hold a drunken Elk in front of a judge. On the right of the two part scene he stands behind the bars of the "Jail." Item is dated for "July 29-30-31. Aug. 1-2." No year is indicated but c. 1900. Just left of the judge's head is 1/16" dark dot but otherwise the piece just has some very light vertical scratching showing only in reflected light. Other than the dot for practical purposes the piece displays Mint. Rare.
