Item Description
2" button with backpaper by Steiner of St. Louis. Button has illustration captioned "The Old Doctor's Cabin." Rim text reads "Celebrate Dr. Still's Centennial In Kirksville 1928." This button marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Andrew Still in a log cabin in Lee County, VA. The doctor's family home was located in Virginia and in 1926 it was purchased, disassembled and shipped by train to Kirksville where it was reconstructed. The dedication of the cabin was two years prior to this 1928 event. The cabin continues to stand on the campus of A.T. Still University. Minor age on the backpaper. The celluloid is NM displaying Mint. Only example we've seen.
