Item Description
2-9/16" by 15" long. Ribbon is number "13" in the series and text on the very bottom translates to "Printed in Vienna." The bold text at the ribbon top "Vivant Unsere Hussaren" translates to "Success To Our Hussars." Beneath the image of the rider on the horse is the word "Linanowa." This is a small town in southern Poland on the eastern front, with the bottom scene on the ribbon portraying a December 1914 event when Austro-Hungary Army repelled a Russian breakthrough. Ribbon has just two tiny .5" splits on right margin but overall is in Exc. condition. The text beneath the wreath dated "1914-1916" at the bottom translates roughly as "Official Badge Of The Red Cross And War Aide Office/Welfare Center." Morry Greener Collection.
