7/8" with die-cut cartoon portraits of them. Reverse brass stud is inscribed "Vesta/Paris." There is a small segment of red enamel missing next to the letter "u" of "Club." There is also a tiny white enamel flake off the cheek of Hardy and a bit smaller spot of enamel off the chin of Laurel. Each of these has a little replacement touch up which blends pretty well. The enameling on their faces have a number of hairline craze marks in the enamel but these are largely microscopic. In spite of the damage this is an incredible rare vintage lapel stud for the famous comedy team and as best we can tell this dates from the early 1950s when they toured Europe, if not before. Only example we've seen.
