Item Description
2.5x5.25" heavy aluminum frame with embossed images of a surveyor and a frontier scout. Top has spring operated slide bar. This is used in conjunction with two different cardboard cards held in the device to tell the distances of "familiar objects" such as buildings, vehicles, etc. Complete with both cards. While unmarked with a character name, this is from 1952 and was tied in with the Quaker cereal sponsorship of both Sgt. Preston and Gabby Hayes programs and was pictured on Preston-related Quaker cereal boxes. The original 5.25" long mailing carton has inked name of owner on the blank underside. Condition of the box is otherwise VF and the premium itself is NM displaying Mint.
