Item Description
Issued in 1932-1933 by Tattoo Chewing Gum/Orbit Gum Co. This was a set of 200+ numbered small blank backed cards printed w/a special photographic process that allowed them to be developed when moistened and rubbed w/a piece of attached blotting paper. Unfortunately, this process often resulted in underdeveloping or fading as time passed.This lot consists of 27 cards total. Cards are 1.75x1-13/16". The album is 4.5x8.5" and was issued w/at least three different colored covers. Has textured paper cover w/text in gold including notation of card set theme "Movie, Radio, Theatrical Stars And Other Famous People." There were also at least 50 baseball players in this series. Album has eight pages w/numbered blocks for 108 cards. Mounted to the first three pages are 27 cards, all are movie stars. As previously detailed, image intensity varies from distinct to barely visible. This also pertains to the stars name/card number. Includes Jean Harlow, Myrna Loy, Maureen O'Sullivan, Claudette Colbert, Clark Gable, Lionel Barrymore, others. All have moderate to heavy dust soiling, some scattered creases, overall just Good. Cover has penciled "Property" info at designated area as well as in stamp text and ink stamp pig image at top. Lt. aging, Fine. Scarce.
