Each is a hard cover ranging in size from 5.25x7.5" to 6.25x9.25". Title, copyright date, page count and a brief overview of contents are as follows: "Writing The Photoplay" 1913. 374 pages include behind the scenes photos inside the Essanay, Lubin, and Selig Studios. "Who's Who On The Screen" 1920. 418 slick paper pages including numerous pages devoted to individual stars including photo and biography. Includes Charlie Chaplin, Lon Chaney, Mary Miles Minter, Harold Lloyd, Tom Mix, Buster Keaton, Mae Murray, and a seven page section devoted to art of Marion Davies illustrated by Harrison Fisher, Nell Brinkley and others. "Screen Acting" 1922. Contains 248 pages including some slick paper photographs including Rudolph Valentino, Lillian Gish in Way Down East, William S. Hart, Mae Murray, and several behind the scenes photos. Lillian Gish wrote the preface. "Motion Picture Directing" 1922 with 242 pages. Includes several slick paper pages of photos including Cecil B. De Mille and Rex Ingram directing, specially built Hollywood sets, and directors Thomas H. Ince and D.W. Griffith directing with megaphones. "The Best Moving Pictures of 1922-1923" 1923 348 pages including several slick paper photos from various films including Lon Chaney and Harrison Ford in "Shadows", Rudolph Valentino in "Blood And Sand", and Douglas Fairbanks in "Robin Hood". "The World Film Encyclopedia" 1933 516 pages. Comprehensive book includes star biographies, dictionary of film terms, film facts and lots of behind the scenes information along with several slick paper photos including Mickey Mouse, Greta Garbo, and Fay Wray and her dog "Kong". Final two books are volumes of "The Film Daily Productions Guide and Directors Annual". 1935 edition has 402 slick paper pages and 1936 edition has high quality textured covers and 464 slick paper pages. Contents include much text for those behind the scenes in the Hollywood film industry including actors' and agents' phone numbers, list of actors, directors, cameramen and others and their work along with production schedules and other inside information. Each has a different full page ad for Mickey Mouse Silly Symphonies; the 1935 edition includes text "Walt Disney Is Now Making All His Mickey Mouse Productions In Technicolor". Who's Who On The Screen, Motion Picture Directing, The Best Moving Pictures of 1922-1923 and The World Film Encyclopedia titles each have original owner's name on blank inside covers. The Best Motion Pictures of 1922-1923 book is heavily worn with splits along spine seams and back cover almost pulled totally loose. 1935 Film Daily Production Guide has a light vertical crease on first 40 or so pages in center. Books otherwise Fine/VF. Scarce titles with much interesting behind the scenes content. Most had limited distribution to those involved in the film community.
