Item Description
Five items. Kit includes 4-1/8x9-7/16" mailer with printed return address of "Green Lama Club" Madison Ave. New York and has typewritten address of recipient. Envelope has lt. handling creases and is missing piece in 1x2.25" area at lower left side edge. Fair. Membership card is 2.5x4.25" with nice art image of Green Lama at left with low serial #2632 and owner's name written in lead pencil in proper place. Lower left has 1" diagonal corner crease. Clean and VG. Green Lama code chart is 8.5x11" printed on one side with instructions below chart. Two horizontal folds as mailed otherwise NM. Comes with a 5/8x3.75" coded message clipped from a comic book which can be decoded using the code cart. Final item is 2-3/8x7" "Victory" folding card trick which is known in two variations. One version says "Wipe 'Em Out" on panel below Mussolini's caricature and this version came with a separate instruction card. However, this kit has the other version of the game without instruction card because the card panel below Mussolini has game title "Green Lama's Escapo" plus a long paragraph of instructions so no separate card was needed. The game instructions end with text lines: "You Open Out The Card And Show Victory Printed On The Back Of The Card. This, You See, Will Make Escape Impossible For Any Fascist Rat!" Card has seven horizontal creases. At least three are as issued and the other four maybe as well but hard to determine. Still in quite clean and Fine condition. The individual items in appropriate conditions total $1150 in the Hake's Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia. Among the rarest comic book club kits. Elaborate and nicely designed.
