Item Description
Sizes range from 10.25x13" to 10.25x13.75" with page count ranging from four to six. Dates and titles are: 1902 “Happy Hooligan” which includes art by creator Opper on all four pages, 1902 “Happy Hooligans Reception” with cover art by both Opper and Dirks showing Happy in center surrounded by the Katzenjammer Kids w/ Mamma and Alfonse and Gaston w/ Gloomy Gus in background eating cookies w/ additional art by Dirks and Opper on inside, 1902 “Gloomy Gus” w/ Happy playing banjo as sad Gus dances, 1902 “Happy Hooligan Comic Song” w/ multiple images of Happy on cover with art by Starmer which has facsimile inscription by Opper at top of cover to song writer Edgar Selden, 1902 “Happy Hooligan” w/ Happy dancing and about to be arrested with photo of creator Opper at upper left, 1907 “Happy Hooligan Dance And Two-Step” w/ image of Happy posing as Napoleon, and 1912 “Happy Hooligan” w/ music for “Hooligan Glide” w/ cover art of Happy dancing on scroll set against newspaper text page background. Scattered lt. to moderate wear here and there. Second title has cellophane tape repairs at sides which have yellowed with age and 1907 title is heavily covered w/ cellophane tape around sides and insides and music is becoming brittle. Remaining five are Good/VG. An instant collection w/ some scarce examples and choice graphics.
