This details events leading to April 23 (date of King's letter from Birmingham jail in 1963) 1965 march on Boston Common. Folder front is titled "April 23/For/Martin Luther King/And/Boston." Other text lists and pictures leaders and speakers, including Abernathy and King, plus Boston head of C.O.R.E. Alan Gartner, Mass. President of S.C.L.C. Rev. Virgil Wood and head of Mass. Comm. Against Discrimination Mrs. Ruth Batson. Also included is order of program, text of five "Freedom Songs", "March Instructions" and messages from Wood and M.L.K. Folder has crease and interior panel with M.L.K. photo is noticeably tanned. Obvious wear but still VG. First seen of both items.
