Item Description
Five items c. 1944. All relate to Quaker Oats premiums featuring the same character portrait images. 4.5x6.5" mailing envelope from "Quaker Oats Company" addressed to recipient contains 3.75x5-7/8" gummed stamp sheet which has set of three pictures including Pat Ryan, Burma, and Terry. Text at top mentions bicycle contest and includes text "Remember To Keep Listening To My Show For Exciting Adventures In The Orient". Set of three stamps are separated at perforations but unused and NM with VF envelope. Next is 4.5x8.5" ad mat proof sheet and 2.75x5.25" plastic printing plate striking proof for set of "Six Striking Pictures Of Terry And The Pirates Characters Drawn In Color By Milton Caniff". Proof sheet is lightly tanned but Fine. Printing plate is NM. Final item is 3.25x5.5" postcard with wonderful image on front of all six characters from comic strip mentioning "Terry Jingle Contest". Card is postmarked 1945 with typewritten address of recipient. A few lt. handling creases. Fine. Nicely designed group with some scarce items.
