Item Description
First is 1.75" button from Marshall Levin Collection with his notation on back "British Print 1983." Front of the button shows ship and reads "NASA Shuttle/Enterprise/June 1983/Stansted Airport." Button depicts the orbiter built for test flights. It flew in 1977 but not in to space. This button is from an event when it landed in London airport June 5, 1983 on the back of a modified Boeing 747 before one half million people. In June of 2008 this airport held a 25th anniversary celebration of the event. Button is Mint and only example we've seen. With this comes 2.25" tall enamel paint on metal emblem with pair of needle posts and clutches on the reverse. This shows a shuttle blasting off and reads "Home Of Outerspace Conquest/Dependable 35-D/Florida And Grand Bahama." Art work includes two small symbols of Lion International and the designation "35-D" is that organization's designation for the region comprised of Florida and Grand Bahama. Item is from the 1980s and has Mint paint. A rare pair.
