Item Description
Whitman #2091 c. 1936. 13.25x13.25x1” deep box has choice lid art of Og with stone axe about to fight mastodon. Gameboard in box bottom shows Og in various activities including playing with monkey people, lost in forest, fishing, discovering fire and being attacked by a saber toothed tiger. The Og radio show was broadcast on CBS for one year between 1934 and 1935. The show was written by Irving Crump, the author of the original Og stories. Center of lid has grommet which holds metal spinner in place on underside. Lid sides are pulled out a bit from age, two corner splits with wear around edges with st. trace of dust soil. There is a 1.5x3" punch through area at bottom center of lid but is firmly set in place and attached at edge. Lid is VG. Box bottom is tight and fine w/Exc. board. Game is complete with four wooden playing pieces that are Exc. Scarce.
