Auction #204 - Part II
Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
5-3/8" tall c. early 1900s high quality hand painted German bisque. Marked on bottom of small container at rear No.6336. From the same series as #1995 and #2007. Wonderfully detailed image of Buddy in messenger outfit with pouch on his chest. Container has floral decorations at top. One tiny flake off underside of left hand, not noticeable from front. Other than chip, displays Exc./NM. Quite possibly the only figural item done for this character. Buddy Tucker was a side character in the Buster Brown comic strip created by R.F. Outcault who eventually got his own comic strip which included a talking bear.
