Item Description
Set of 36, each 13/16" litho. Originally issued one per cereal box in 1943 and created by legendary "Premium King" Sam Gold (see previous Comic Character full set). The inks used were very susceptible to chipping and the gloss finish was a magnet for dust so most examples today are just Good to VG. This set is largely bright and clean. While there is some wear, none are less than "Fine" and majority are extremely Fine to Exc. A couple with most paint wear are Row 1 #2, Row 3 #3 and #6, Row 4 #6, Row 5 #1 and #2, Row 6 #2. A couple with dent are Row 1 #3, Row 2 #2, Row 5 #4. With 10 "Fine" and 26 in higher grades, this is a well above average set.
