Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
1.5” with near exact likeness of Alfred E. Neuman as depicted for MAD Magazine. Additional button text is “Superior-1941,” the meaning of which is unknown to us. Button has no backpaper as issued and no maker’s name. One of four examples we’ve seen in five decades. Tiniest lt. wear under magnification. Centering of the design is close to perfect and the piece displays Mint with high gloss. Past sales have exceeded $600.00. Also see earlier button #1521.
