Item Description
1-3/8" striking silver on dark metallic blue litho by Geraghty, Chicago. Very likely the earliest as well as rarest Annie button. The only other example we know of came from the Joe Stone collection which formed the basis of the Hake collection. That example in Auction #184 realized $2,463.91. This example has just a tiny bit of silver luster loss: a dot on her collar, a 1/16" dot on her sleeve and a 3/16" area on Sandy's chest. A 1/16" dot of blue is off the bottom edge of Annie's dress. A little silver luster is also off the extreme bottom rim edge but showing very little from a front view. Defects are all of a very minor nature. The button displays extremely Fine in striking metallic blue and silver colors. Among the very rarest 1930s comic charcter buttons.
