Item Description
This item is pictured on page 122 of Munsey's Disneyana book. In 1936 Ingersoll was still selling the basic first version of the Mickey Mouse pocket watch. However by this time it sold for $1.50 and came in a blue box. The advertisement shows an example of the boxed watch and attached to the loop on the watch is this reddish woven fabric cord 5" long which was looped to attach to the watch loop and then the button on the end would serve as a decorative piece in a suit jacket lapel buttonhole while the watch itself would be carried in the suit pocket. The button is 5/8" dia. with silver luster reverse while front is highly domed clear glass over beautiful color image of Mickey with each hand extended by his body. Some of the original red accent color is off the cord but no other damage. This was the earliest use of the "Mickey Mouse Lapel Watch" concept and this is the very first example of the cord which came on the watch. Extremely Fine. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tombusch and Ted Hake.
