In 1938 Madame Alexander produced 16 different Disney character marionettes, primarily Snow White characters (see items #2415-18) but also Mickey & Minne (see item #2302) and Donald and Pluto. This set is Snow White and all seven dwarfs, each w/painted composition head, hands and feet and nice quality fabric outfits, dwarfs also have simulated leather belts w/metal buckles. Snow White is complete w/wood control unit and attached strings but the dwarfs are without any of this having been removed at some point but all have original loops on heads and holes in hands so they could be hung for display or have the controls replaced with some effort. Each dwarf is complete w/fabric name tag in collar. Snow White has small scattered wear/aging but is Fine/VF. All dwarfs have bit more paint wear/flakes/chips mostly to shoes. Some scattered typical crazing. Grumpy has white paint touch-ups to beard. Dopey is missing one button. Dwarfs overall VG to Fine and still display nicely. Set comes w/16 page script booklet. Front cover has photo of the rare cardboard stage that was available for these marionettes and shows Mickey and Minnie. One long script is for Snow White, two shorter scripts are for the other Disney characters and are titled "Mickey's Mix-Up/Donald's Disaster." Dust soiling to cover. VF.
