This classic toy's popularity saved the Lionel Corp. from bankruptcy during the dark days of the Depression. Wonderfully illustrated box is 8x11.25x2.25" tall and contains 9" long wind-up toy w/key and eight curved track sections. Box bottom has 2" edge split. Lid has trace of edge wear but tight. Box Fine. The 4.5" tall composition figures of Mickey and Minnie are attached to a painted metal hand car, this being the red variety (also known in green, orange and maroon). Minnie wears a wood hat and both have their original tails. Both have expertly crafted rubber-covered replacement legs which look original. Toy works and travels around and figures move as if controlling the handcar. Toy shows minimal wear. Minnie has pair of .25 hairlines on top surface of hands but otherwise both figures are exceptional examples w/choice paint. VF/Exc.
