Item Description
Clark Gable was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. This large group of related items was sold by Christie’s East in July of 2003. Group includes 5.5" long “Brownie Target Six-16" camera, high quality leather case holding 5.25" wide German made “Reflex-Korelle Camera” , Kodak boxed lens hood and CK-3 filter, 7.75" wide Zeiss binoculars which come in specially made suede leather case by Hardy Beverly Hills which have tooled “C. G.” initials on closure strap and large initials on inside of lid, leather case holding 16" tall high quality metal tripod and leather case holding 12.75" long Bausch & Lomb telescope. Items have numerous tags relating to Christie’s sale. Most cases have original carrying straps. Camera case has heavy wear with broken strap. Fair. Binoculars case has scattered wear and is VG, telescope case has torn collar and is missing end cap as is tripod case. VG/Fine. Binoculars have moderate wear w/corrosion on lens adjusters, VG. Cameras and telescope have lt. wear, Fine/VF. An interesting group obviously well used by one of Hollywood’s greatest leading men. Comes with Hake’s COA and Christie’s auction tags.
