Item Description
This item is identical to the one shown as Hake #3083. This and two other examples in the book were originally once held by a brass rivet to a fabric ribbon which provided a white cloth backing that allowed a strong display of the image. The size of the piece is an impressive 2" with a brass frame surrounding the glass plus a pair of loops at top which hold a brass link chain. On one side of the glass at the very bottom a flake about 1/16x3/16" is missing but it just removed a tiny dot of black from one of his suit coat lapels. Emulsion is o/w extremely clean with only a few pinpoint scattered dots of black color off his jacket. The value in Hake 2004 Revised Prices is $575.00. Rare and VF.
