Lot of 18 pieces (2 pieces being tops to teapot and sugar bowl). Made in Japan c. 1930s. Lot consists of four 1-1/8" teacups, one 3.25" dia. saucer, six 3.75" dia. plates, pair of 2.25" tall egg cups. All of these have same repeated illustration of Popeye walking arm-in-arm w/Olive Oyl, who has fan in hand. .25x.5" chip to interior of one cup but this blends somewhat. This cup is VG/Fine, rest is VF/Exc. overall. ALso comes w/1.75" tall creamer, 2" tall sugar bowl (w/lid) and 3" tall teapot (w/lid). Creamer has Popeye's arm as handle, sugar bowl has both arms on each side as handles and teapot has large arm handle and pipe spout. Teapot has 1.5" hairline on side w/Popeye image, blends into iridescent gloss. Exc. overall. High quality set. Rare.
