Item Description
Lot of eight issues, each 8.5x11" w/typically 48 pages. Issues are #9-13, 15-17 published between May 1967 and Aug. 1968. This was the first U.S. magazine of rock & roll music criticism (preceding both Rolling Stone and Creem). Created in 1966 by college student Paul Williams in response to the increasing sophistication and cultural influence of popular music. Each issue is loaded with articles, interviews, reviews and ads for many of the top acts of the time period. These issues in some way include: The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Otis Redding, The Doors, The Kinks, Wilson Pickett, Velvet Underground and so many others. A who's who of rock legends appear in these pages. Lt. wear/aging but all are clean copies overall. Nice early lot for this important music publication.
