Item Description
Nice wood frame 12.5x20.75" with plexiglass and mat holding 5.5x14.25" thin paper announcement for "Grand Republican Celebration! At South Royalton On Wednesday Eve Nov. 14 at 6 o'clock, In Honor Of The Election Of Harrison And Morton." Two of the additional panels read "Torchlight Proces'n, Fireworks And Illuminations" and "The Log Cabin/Will Be Drawn In The Procession With The Faithful Coon That Has Been Through The Campaign And Is To Take A Prominent Part In The Big Montpelier Parade Monday Next. An Emancipation Proclamation Will Be Issued To Him, And He Will Once More Be A Free Coon Under Protection." A couple of hairline tears show very little near the top. Reverse repairs consist of twenty pieces of .5 to 1.5" archival tape on margins and scattered. The piece still displays extremely well. Easily removed from frame/mat if desired. Neat and rare.
