Item Description
13.75x16.5" with raised rim in roses accented at left by cowboy with lasso on horseback and right by full figure of TR in Spanish American War uniform. Near each of these vignettes, near the extreme rim edge is a tiny 1/16" nail hole from mounting long ago. Condition otherwise is Fine. Numerous paint chips off extreme outer rim and scattered tiny white dots plus a few .5" white lines on TR's black coat. Raised rim reads "Theodore Roosevelt." Inner yellow line reads "After John S. Sargent's Painting. Reproduced By Courtesy Of Collier's Weekly, Copyright 1903 By Collier's Weekly. The Meek & Beach Co., Coshocton, Ohio." At bottom of TR image is sponsor's name "Compliments Of W.R. Tonkin Co." The 2004 Hake Guide value is $525.
