Item Description
"Beer Jackets" and beer mugs have a long tradition among 20th century members of Princeton University senior classes. This 4-5/8" tall glazed ceramic mug was used by Class of 1934 to celebrate the contribution it made to the undefeated football season of 1933 (the first undefeated season since 1922). They used the National Recovery Act "Blue Eagle" logo with alterations of a human head and one set of talons clutching a football while the other clutches a beer mug. The name "D.L. Chambers" appears below the art while the reverse carries the name of senior class member "Robert C. Wilson, Jr. '34." A most unusual and very limited NRA related piece in essentially Mint condition. See Princeton McKinley/Roosevelt jugate #230.
