Auction #205 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205
Item Description
This most unusual piece has interior glass bottle covered in molded material simulating tree bark and nine sawed off tree limbs. Opening at top holds a cork. Three longer and thinner limbs are meant to hold upside down shot glasses. Inscription is in raised white lettering. Center front is very high relief portrait of FDR in gold color. The piece is 11" tall and 6" dia. Item symbolizes the founding of Chicago from wilderness, the election/inauguration of FDR and the end of Prohibition. Narrow 3" long line of small flakes off very bottom edge and three small chips off very top of neck, all of which barely show. Extremely Fine overall. First we've seen.
