Item Description
c. late 1930s. 8.5” tall tin litho toy with built-in key depicting B.O. Plenty holding Sparkle Plenty in one hand and present marked “For Baby Sparkle” in the other. His name appears on the back of his vest. Has separate tin hat attached to head. Hat shows some wear/aging. Toy works and when wound, figure rocks back and forth as hat tips up and down. Back of pants has text “By Permission Of Famous Artists Syndicate Copyright Chicago Tribune.” Marx logo appears below name on back. Some scattered traces of lt. wear but wind-up remains glossy and Fine. Classic toy from Chester Gould's Dick Tracy comic strips.
