Item Description
Toy is by Unique Art Mfg. Co. ©1946 United Features Syndicate Inc. Tin litho toy with built-in key has overall size of 5x9x8" tall. Toy consists of piano unit and four separate figures that attach to it. Piano is nicely illustrated on all sides including "Ole Man Mose" depicted on back. One side has poster for "Sadie Hawkins Day" and the front features sheet music for "Turnip Time By Li'l Abner." Figures are of Abner, Daisy Mae seated in front of the piano, Pappy Yokum as drummer and Mammy Yokum on piano top holding baton. Works and all figures move when wound including Abner who dances. Toy shows little wear with some widely scattered tiny paint nicks and scratches, with lt. wear to most front end of piano top. Overall appearance remains bright and glossy. VF/Exc. A classic.
