©1930 Correll - Gosden. Made by Marx. 11.5" tall tin litho toy has built-in key. These toys were designed both with and without moving eyes. This one has stationary eyes. Toy works and upper body rocks side-to-side as he walks forward. Original arms swing freely at sides. Amos wears taxi driver outfit with Taxi hat that has badge reading "Fresh Air Taxi Cab Company Of America Incorporated" and also has badge on vest "F.A.T.C. Amos Driver." Below badge a "Bank Book" is seen in vest pocket. Back reads "Original And Genuine Authorized 'Amos/Andy' Genuine Facsimile Signature Copyrighted Correll & Gosden 1930/Made By Louis Marx & Co. New York U.S.A." Scattered paint nicks and traces of wear. Displays Fine. See item #1896 for Andy wind-up.
