Item Description
21x36.75" slick paper poster c. 1978 has photo of drag queen Divine wearing two piece leopard skin outfit with high heels holding whip and rope. Poster is for play held at "Hurrah" theater in NYC written by Tom Eden and directed by Ron Link. Horizontal crease just below center with a few lt. handling creases here and there. Bright and Fine. Divine (1945-1988) was born Harris Milstead in Baltimore, Maryland. He became involved with John Waters in the mid-1960s and starred in a number of Water's early films before moving on to theaters in the 1970s. He continued to star in films including "Polyester" and "Hairspray." This play featured Divine as Flash Storm, the owner of a 1960s Baltimore strip club.
