Item Description
Each is 3-3/8x5-3/8" from series No.173 c. 1910. Each is embossed. Four have Civil War veterans themes. They include boy and grandmother looking at flags and ribbons with framed image of veteran behind them, children listening to veteran, children giving veteran flowers, pretty girl with flowers for veteran. Other four include three of children with flags, and Miss Liberty type carrying flag and bouquet. Six are postally used, one has ink note on reverse but never mailed. Trace of lt. aging with lt. dust soil and faint bumps on a few corners. Overall Fine. Now known as Memorial Day, Decoration Day began shortly after the Civil War to commemorate fallen Union soldiers. By the 20th century Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who had died in all wars and is a federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Wonderful graphics.
