Item Description
Unmarked but produced by Georgene Averill c. 1943. Each is stuffed cloth with painted facial features on starched linen and movable heads which have wooden button eyes. 20" tall Uncle Wiggily has combination felt and cotton clothing and hat. Heavy wear to pants. Moderate wear, aging to rest of outfit. Dust soiling on hat. Overall VG. 18.5" tall Nurse Jane has all cotton outfit including bonnet. Light fading. Fine overall. Nice to display together. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
