Auction #205 - Part II
Item numbers 1427 through 3167 in auction 205
Item Description
3.5x8x5" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key. From 1930 © Correll & Gosden. Toy is all original but missing horseshoe hood ornament(replacement readily available), crank (loose but included) and missing plastic windshield. Has separate figures of Amos, Andy and their dog. Car's body has related text including "Fresh Air Taxi Cab Company Of America Inc." name plus "Check And Double Check," etc. Car has simulated wear and tear such as dents and dings, patched tires, mud splotches on fenders and running boards. Toy works and car travels forward before coming to a stop. It then shakes as the figures of Amos and Andy bounce up and down, the toy then resumes its forward motion. Small scattered traces of moderate wear, mostly in the form of paint nicks, some paint rubs along extreme edges. Still a displayable example and VG/Fine. Classic windup toy.
