6” tall wood composition from scarce figural series of famous Americans by maker of wood composition novelties with full name of Syracuse Ornamental Company. Others from this series include Washington, Franklin, Stuyvesant, Lincoln, Buffalo Bill, Will Rogers, Diamond Jim, Steve Brodie, John L. Sullivan and a WWII First Sergeant (see items #2117-19). Variety with 1941 copyright on underside of base rather than embossed on back of base (see item #2115). Exceedingly minor hairline on one ankle only noticeable upon very close inspection. Still an Exc. example.
