Item Description
First is beautifully colored 1.25" celluloid with reverse as a lapel stud by W&H. Front shows woman in black outfit and gloves with text "Widow Jones Suits Me." Second is 1.5x2" very flat metal container with a paper label on the top repeating the slogan and image from the lapel stud with additional text "Birthday Greetings From Widow Jones Of Boston." The top cover slides half way either to the left or right and the underside has five small recessed compartments. Three of the five retain small thin cutouts which appear to be some form of an early Band-aid. The lapel stud is scarce and this second piece is the first we've seen. c. 1900.
