Item Description
Largest piece is a 10" long silvered brass letter opener from "Detroit Stove Works." This has scattered tarnish and small bend on the tip. Next is nickel plated iron miniature hatchet referencing prohibition advocate Carrie Nation with her portrait on the blade and text on that side "Ax Of All Nations/1901/Cut Out The Whiskey." Opposite side reads "Buy Laurel Stoves & Ranges." This and the following item were both produced by the "Art Stove Co Detroit." This second piece does not mention Carrie Nation but instead reads "Look For The Laurel Stoves & Ranges" along with company name on reverse. Fourth is a metal "Milk Bottle Opener" also advertising "Round Oak Stoves - Ranges/Heating Systems." Next is a die-cut tin circular utensil used in egg separation. This reads on the rim "The South Bend Malleable Range/All-Ways Preferable." Next is a rectangular paper covered "Half Size Cake" of "The Rising Sun Stove Polish." Couple of small chips off two edges of the underside but still in remarkable good condition with nice graphic label. Last is a wooden pen with metal point and an unused wooden pencil both advertising "Copper-Clad Malleable Range Co." See following related lot. All items from the early 1900s.
