Item Description
1x1-7/8x3/8" thick. Front panel is dark cream celluloid with six black indentations. Rest of the piece is in black celluloid with everything held together by seven tiny brass pins. Top edge has wedge-shape celluloid cover that folds up on one of the pin hinges. This cover has a little surface celluloid off one edge and one side edge of the case has small 1/8" surface flake gone. Another side edge of the case has notches to serve as a match striker. An extremely early example of an all celluloid match case. c. early 1890s.
