Auction #205 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205
Item Description
1.75" dia. from early 1900s. The first one inch of the interior cloth tape does not retract into the interior compartment and has small bit of edge wear. One side of the tape has medal-like design of a woman with surrounding text "Gold Medal Brownhigrade." This side displays cleanly. The opposite side has a little scattered age stain but also with wonderful depiction of a large metal container with colorful panel on its front showing a woman holding one container and with several washtubs displayed on the table in the foreground. Surrounding text reads "The Brown Stamping Co./Toledo, Ohio." No maker name. One of the earliest and most graphic celluloid tape measures we've seen. Fine.
