Item Description
10x15.25" copyright 1902 W.R. Hearst. Published by the New York American and Journal. 88 pages including the thin cardboard covers. Pages are printed in bw with red accent color with one Sunday page on front of each page from 1901 or 1902. Virtually all gags involve the boys tricking Mama and winding up getting a sound thrashing in the last panel. Cover has dust soil and handling creases with a few moisture marks. Covers overall Good/VG. Blank inside covers have archival tape reinforcement at seams. Title page has lt. creasing with a few tears repaired on reverse side with archival tape. Last two inside pages have wear at right edges but contents are otherwise mostly Fine. Rare. Nice art throughout by creator Rudolph Dirks. Overstreet lists this book in Good at $1,000 and in Fine at $2,400.
