Item Description
10x17.5x6" deep model #1000. Well made, nice quality record player from 1964. These originally sold for $29.95 and because of this high price tag, did not sell well compared to other Beatles merchandise of the day which flew off of the shelves. Hinged lid w/pair of metal clasps on sides, front has carrying handle. Attached to top of the lid at right is glossy paper label w/band photo, their facsimile signatures and name "The Beatles" on front edge. Inside of lid is covered by a different photo label of the band w/facsimile signatures. Interior top surface has designs around the tone arm and knobs including "The Beatles" name and Nems copyright. Works and has four speeds (16, 33, 45, 78 rpm). While working, it does produce a loud humming sound (a common glitch with these). The foam turntable pad has worn away (again, a common defect). Both problems can be easily rectified and we can supply the contact info of a person who restores these to like new, working condition. Inside/outside has general trace of wear and aging but remains very nice overall. Some small rubs/wear along outside edges, minor color rubs on outside label. Outside Fine, interior displays VF/Exc. One of the most sought after Beatles items, a true classic. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
