Auction #205 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205
Item Description
1.75" tall with fixed 5/16" ring on the top point. The metal is in four distinct layers with outer star point design, large ornate wreath, circular 1" flat plate, and mounted pair of crisscrossed snowshoes accented by leaf design and small winter cap with tassel. At the upper left a tiny tip of the wreath end is missing but hardly noticeable. Back of the piece is engraved with the word "Gagnee" which means "Won" with lower text "Par (by) L.N. Moreau." The entire inscription is hand engraved. At bottom are initials of maker. First letter is difficult to read but it is followed by "R.E. & Co." The piece tests for 10K gold and is 10.4 pennyweight. Almost certainly from the 19th century. A beautiful piece. Unique.
